Saw this webcam and software in action yesterday. I love the avatar animation function! The s/ware scans your face and then you can choose from a selection of avatars; your facial movement corresponds to the avatar’s – there are halos, mostaches, dinosaurs, stick figures etc… really cool. Apparently the software is not proprietry so will work on other Logitech webcams. Have yet to test this out, but that is the info that I received from the folk on the Logitech stand.
Just a wee sample below:
I would love to trial SychronEyes in my classroom. Having used Apple’s Remote Desktop and having seen DyKnow in action I think this product by SMART Tech. may well prove to be better. Anyone tried it in ‘the field’?
“SynchronEyes classroom management software connects a teacher’s computer with every computer in a networked classroom. SynchronEyes software is easy to use and offers a variety of features that enable you to keep students focused on learning and redirect their attention if they go off track.
You can communicate, monitor or collaborate with students individually or as a group, so everyone gets the most out of class time.”
“iEARN (International Education and Resource Network) is the world’s largest non-profit global network that enables teachers and youth to use the Internet and other technologies to collaborate on projects that enhance learning and make a difference in the world.”
A colleague and I have identified several Humanities units that we would like to marry to iEARN projects. MYP and iEARN philosophy is very well connected.
